New video with me on channel 4 with me in it identified falsely as Jase "Schwartz." Our follow up meeting had 60 plus community members come out to help plan the event, though the organizers are all youth (from Solidarity, the Islamic Center--there's an overlap on one--and from the general milieu of lefty folks here) the actual effort involves folks from every age group.
Some of our branch members have done an admirable job on this thing everyone should be proud. I will post a follow up after the actual event.
Other updates:
-threats have been made against the lives of the board of directors and their families (of the Islamic Center) that have been taken very seriously;
-some Solidarity members have given interviews to a leftist documentary film-maker from Los Angeles
-we've attracted at least one (possibly two) new members to the branch from the Islamic Center, this particular individual is actually well-versed in Marxism as his family is Ukrainian (his great grandfather I believe it was fought and died for the Bolsheviks in the Civil War)
-the extremely apolitical atmosphere of Murfreesboro has been politicized to a degree that many older folks say reminds them of the Civil Rights Movement; of course this struggle is nothing on that scale but with talk of property values being driven down by Muslim presence, marches for and against civil rights, vandalism, threats to the lives of Muslim community members, white youth organizing in solidarity with people of color, it does feel like a miniature version in some respects
