Given the importance of anarchism among radical young people in the US today, it's really good to see this article (though I disagree with some points)!
For what it's worth, my attempt to engage with anarchists, shaped by my experiences working with young anarchists in Canada, is in the "Socialism for Our Times" issue of "New Socialist" -- an article entitled "Real Freedom: Marxism, Anarchism, Liberation." The issue is online at

BTW, I think supporters of socialism from below should remember that some anarchists (not anarcho-primitivists) ARE socialists (whether they realize it or not). I think this can help a bit to undercut sectarianism shaped in earlier eras.
