A rising danger
I agree with this. It's especially important to rebuff the rising danger of rightwing populism and expose the anti-working class reactionaries trying to promote it in the working class.
I would add one point. Their goal is not simply to rollback the Civil Rights achievements. Their virulent and violent rhetoric against Obama, such as the big lie that he's not a citizen, is designed to reverse the election as illegitimate, and take him down 'by any means necessary.'
Here in Western PA, we recently had a neo-Nazi youth, fired up that Obama was going to 'take away my guns,' murder three policemen. Every gun store around has had a run on ammo due to the rightwing demagogy on this.
We can be clear on our differences with Obama on a whole range of things. But the battlefield is not limited to just him and us, and we need to take into account a larger picture and an overall relation of forces.
